@Noia: I find that playing the guitar hurts my GH abilities in some respects because I play notes that i hear rather than I'm being told to play by the game.

@Erin: I completely agree on AOTS. When it's on, it's on, but when it's off, meh.

@JAK: I never said you didn't like metal. I say you like metal all the time to #1GF!. You and I just like different kinds of metal.

@Neil: I've been had? How can this be? DAMN YOU INTERNETS.

It is my understanding that Kevin Pereira has been playing drums for several years. The whole practice on Rock Band and see how it translates was a gag. Hopefully I'm not being Captain Obvious here and haven't missed something.

That being said, he performed much better than I knew he could. It sounded really good.

Side note - I played guitar briefly in middle school. I discovered girls and booze and lost interest. Now, 17 years later, Rock Band and Guitar Hero resparked the interest and I have been playing almost every day for the past 4 months.

That was amazing. A total surprise. I did not expect him to know how to actually play that on a real drum set. It sounded good. I was also amazed to find out that I really liked that band. I'll have to get me some of that on my ipod. See Jon??? I do like metal along side my country.

I really like Attack of the Show, though it can be annoying sometimes. This challenge was pretty awesome. For some reason, I totally expected him to not know what he was doing at all. But, then again, whenever I get on the drum set for Rock Band, it's all flailing arms and legs for me.
Though I do rock it out on the mic.
Maybe I should get a little practice behind the drum kit though...

Hehe... while there are incredibly amazing drummers out there, all it takes for most of the basic rock songs is enough practice to learn how to move your hands and feet differently (without really getting into four-way indepedence and what-not - ie. Thomas Lang and Mike Portnoy) and be able to keep a rhythm. Once a drummer gets to that point, it seems all they focus on is speed.

I'd like to see someone who can get a 98% expert on guitar grab a real guitar and fail miserably. There is nothing guitar-like about those dinky little controllers.
