RSSThe Beard Quest Easter Egg: The Toothbrush
The Toothbrush is a mustache that was originally made famous by Charlie Chaplin, but it’s so far out of use today that I didn’t think to include it in my beard quest. After getting a lot of e-mail pointing out my omission, I had to figure out a way to include it that would naturally imply a reference to Chaplin and not make me look like one of history’s biggest douches.
I planted the Toothbrush in the list so that it changed when the mouse passed over it, and waited for #1GF! to find it. Like a lot of people, she never did.
Once I pointed out the mouseover to her, she suggested that it needed its own post in case other people missed it, too. Even though it’s a pretty lame to point out your own easter eggs, I figured that revealing this picture should keep me out of corporate offices everywhere and let me stay home and write forever.

I am cursed with the inability to grow a real beard aside from pathetic fuzz that even I can tell looks terrible, yet I have an utter fascination with all the various iterations of beards, so I was excited to hear of your quest. My goal, if my facial follicles would ever allow me to, would be to do the ‘anti-beard’ and just have puffs of hair growing out from my cheeks with no sideburns or anything. perhaps a modified ‘Hulihee’ with no ’stache or upper ‘burns, just the cheeks. It just seemed so wacky I would have killed to do it in college, but alas, I am 34 now and still can go days without shaving and not have it noticed. Oh well…

I don’t know if I should be proud of this or not, but I did find (and enjoy) your Easter Egg.
In fact, I giggled like a little kid and spent about 90 seconds making your face twitch.
Does that make me a net-stalker? :^O

No matter how many times I see that beard page I still LOL. And I also made your little face twitch for about a full minute. Bizarre how you just reel us in. I guess I still like guys that write.
