The Recipe For The Perfect Beatbox

#1GF!: What are you doing today.
Me: Practicing my beatboxing.
#1GF!: What?
Me: Practicing my beatboxing.
#1GF!: Oh no.
Me: Gahd. It’s not like I’m going to do it while you’re here or anything. I know the rules.

I’ve been a sucker for beatboxing since I first heard The Human Beat Box in 1984 a sucker for people who can beatbox, and Beardyman shows us the recipe to a perfect beatbox mix. This is what got me buh buh pft buh b’buh pft’ing for hours.

I think it’s impossible to watch somebody beatbox really good, and not try doing your own afterwards.

Every time I see one of these videos I’m walking around thinking I’m awesome at beatboxing. Good luck with your practice.

I was sort of at a loss for words – just watched with my mouth wide open in awe, then realized there was no way I could ever win that $25K cash prize. I’m quite sure that was NOT the career choice #1GF was hoping for you!

@N0ia: That’s exactly what I do. When I perfect my craft, we can get the band back together. I think our first album should be “101 beatboxes plays Mantovani.”

It won’t be popular, but collectors will love it.

@Joyce: Human Beat Box is the perfect career. I think that’s what she’s been pushing me towards all these years. She only says no to get me beatboxing by reverse psychology.

A band made of nothing but beatboxers?!? Ingenius. It’s like the blue man group, only you don’t need crazy contraptions to make the music.

You should do a collaboration album with The Great Pekkanini. Beatboxing and theramin playing together is unheard of.

Is it sad that I tried to beatbox the last line of your comment? It probably didn’t sound anything like what you imagined though.

Aww man… I went to a concert last night, and I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of Bushwalla, or if you’re a fan, but he does freestyle acoustic rap. At the beginning of his set he did this beatboxing with some delay/echo on his mic. It was absolutely incredible.

I’ve ordered his CDs, and if he’s got any good beatboxing on there I’ll let you know.
