Netflix Watch Instantly Additions For April 3

It looks like Netflix has added around 130 movies to the Watch Instantly service in the last couple of weeks, putting the total number of titles at around 3800 movies. I’ve listed 9 that stand out, and the other 129 additions and 19 deletions are listed below.

I’m not going to pretend to understand why Mannequin or Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey were added, but there is certainly something for everyone in this batch. There are exercise videos, bad 80′s movies, Anime, horror classics, and more Wiggles videos than any child should be allowed to watch.

I pulled out some below that I thought might be worth a watch. If you only have time for one of these, check out Weeds. It’s a well-written TV series about a suburban mom who deals drugs to support her family after her husband dies. #1GF! and I watched the first two seasons a few months back and really, really liked them. It’s not half as gritty as I had expected, but I can’t recommend it enough.

  1. Jacob Says:

Well, clearly, they added Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey because it’s 94 minutes of pure, undiluted awesome!

    I’m serious!

    Stop laughing!

    :-)

  2. M-shel Says:

I watched Phantasm the other night…man, I love that movie!

Mommie Dearest is up next…because I can lounge around with stiff drink and yell things about wire hangers and it’s kinda funny in a very sick and twisted way.

Littled bummed that they took out District B13 already *sniffle*.

  3. KF Chud Says:

Code of Silence… classic Chuck Norris!

LOL at myself. Just checked my spelling and wrote:

Cod of Silence… classic Chunk Norris!

Chunk Norris. Chuck’s fatter brother. :-)

  4. Jon Says:

@Jacob: We all have movies that we all shouldn’t like. Mine happens to be the Nutty Professor II: The Klumps. Man, I did not want to admit that.

@M-Shel: I know! They just added B13 within the last month, and now it’s gone. I even had it in my queue. That’s the nature of the Watch Instantly service sometimes. You snooze, you lose.

@KF Chud: I don’t know what would make a better joke: ChuNk Norris or COD of Silence.

  5. M-shel Says:

    Chunk Norris…

the man Chunk from The Goonies grows up to be!

  6. Ann Says:

I caught Weeds (season one) last weekend and plan to watch season two tomorrow; it’s a terrific show. Jon, you’re the best for providing these lists of Watch Now flix. Thanks.

  7. Dave Says:

I recommend Bringing Up Baby. Good flick.

  8. maxwell hammer Says:

Thanks for the list, but it’s wrong. Weeds has been available on watch now for at least a year.

  9. Jon Says:

    @M-Shel: Rocky Road?

@Ann: Aw shucks. Glad to help.

@Dave: Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to check it out.

@Maxwell: I looked back to July ’07 and I couldn’t find Weeds mentioned anywhere. Are you sure you’re right?

  10. Henry Says:

    Abominable Dr. Phibes!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Jason The Saj Says:

Any thoughts on why the deletions occurred?

    Contract renegotiations?

  12. Jon Says:

@Jason: I have no idea. Maybe the movies don’t get watched or maybe they only have limited space. 3800 movies could be somewhere around 15 terabytes of storage.
