Traditional Irish Music For St. Paddy’s Day
Whether you’re a Dyer, a Mulligan, a Shea, or a Hobin, a Murphy, McDonough, a Caffrey, or Connell, here’s a playlist of some of the traditional Irish songs that I grew up with to get you primed for your yearly excursion into everything green.
For the rest of you, fear not. Most of the American Irish have as much of a connection to the motherland as you do, so grab your shamrocks and join us in the parlor.
Enjoy!

i got a voice mail message today from a friend that was playing me the “unicorn song”. he was at a bar listening to some live music and remembered my fondness of the song. childhood memories. is that on your playlist? “there were green alligators, and long necked geese, humpty back camels and some chimpanzees…cats and rats and elephants as sure as you’re born, the loveliest of all was the unicorn.”

Um, check the caller ID number on that call from your friend in the bar. You may find that his number matches my cell phone.
