A couple of Definitions:

Life of Riley (n): the good life, an easy and pleasant life or carefree existence. An old expression originating from an 1880's song called "Is That Mr. Reilly".

Python (n): an open-source, cross-platform, object-oriented scripting language.

From Wikipedia: "An important goal of the Python developers is making Python fun to use. This is reflected in the origin of the name (after the television series Monty Python's Flying Circus), in the common practice of using Monty Python references in example code, and in an occasionally playful approach to tutorials and reference materials.[41] For example, the metasyntactic variables often used in Python literature are spam and eggs, instead of the traditional foo and bar."

i'm wondering if by week 2 or perhaps 3, you will stop getting up at 6am or at least start being falsely productive until #1GF leaves for work and then crawl back into bed. i have to say that i'm slightly concerned that your life of riley is oddly similar to dad's life of leisure.

keep an eye on him, #1GF. if you're out somewhere and jon says, "i don't mean one....i don't mean two...i mean the whole crew....saddle up!", please alert me immediately. he is not channeling our deceased grandfather -- the gene pool has caught up with him and that's dangerous!

Well it sounds like you enjoyed yourself today - even if you have no idea where your day went.

Out of curiosity, and sheer lazyness, what does "Life of Riley" mean? Considering your name is Jon - unless I've stumbled upon someone elses blog.

Also, about the kid calling everything BoingBoing, it really reminds me of an episode of The Backyardigans that I saw titled "Mission to Mars" (my one year old loves the show, and it really isn't that bad.)

Anyway, the lyrics to the song in that episode can be found here:

Perhaps he was just saying "boinga" wrong.
