I like the Comcast free McAfee stuff too. You should know that the privacy part does more than block porn sites, though. You can put in personal information, like your social, credit cards, birthdate, whatever, and it will make sure that stuff never leaves your PC without your permission. And, you can turn this feature on without actually filtering any web content (basically in "Admin" mode).

My late and questionably useful suggestions:

Servant Salamander - Windows Explorer replacement with search capabilities that actually work

TextPad - May not be necessary with N++

Google Earth - Just for the fun of it

Putty - As an SSH client

WinSCP - If you use SSH, this is a must

WinZip - Because MSFTs built in capabilities just feel wierd

TrayThis - Moves minimized windows to the system tray. Good for apps that you have running all the time, but don't want to see

Ethereal - To see what's really crossing your network port

MSFT Bootvis - Te see what's doin' when you boot

ProfileLink - Only for the Lappy, but great to customize your config based on your docked/undocked status

StrongBad's Time Machine - Just to hear him say the time,,, '8:28 aaaayyyy mmmmm...'

Oh man, we already use a lot of these, but I'm telling you that my husband is going to have an orgasm when he reads this. There is nothing he loves more than learning about new, free software and then passing it on to his co-workers as though he discovered it himself. It is the modern day equivalent of my dad showing off his new John Deere lawnmower to the neighbors.
